In addition to sports, Vermont Adaptive integrates environmental, holistic wellness and competitive training philosophies for people of all ages, with cognitive, developmental, physical and emotional/behavioral disabilities.
Vermont Adaptive is best known for its diversity in program opportunities. We own an ever growing inventory of specialized and technical adaptive sports equipment so we can accommodate all abilities and body types. We are competent in maintaining and repairing our equipment fleet. Our current programming includes but is not limited to: alpine and nordic skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, sailing, goalball, canoeing and kayaking, adventure weekends, cycling, hiking, EcoAble Adventures, indoor rock climbing, camping, Beeper Baseball, tennis, C.O.R.E. Connections (whole body health and lifestyle wellness) and custom adventures as requested.
Annually, Vermont Adaptive is host to more than 3,000 adaptive sports adventures. Our participants are generally from Vermont and the Northeast. Since its inception, Vermont Adaptive has been open to serving populations and individuals with all types of disabilities. That history uniquely positions Vermont Adaptive to have the history and breadth of experience in adapting and instructing sport to many populations including: Traumatic Brain Injury, Blind and Visually Impaired, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Amputations and Limb Differences, Spinal Cord Injuries, Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities, Stroke, Muscle Weakness, Blast Injuries, Cognitive/Developmental disabilities and many more.
