New England's Wounded Veterans Inc. is a volunteer-led nonprofit organization that supports severely wounded Veterans and hosts Back to the Battlefield, a program that brings WWII Veterans back to the European battlefields they fought on.
Cpl. Vincent Mannion Brodeur, recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart, inspired Boston's Annual Wounded Vet Bike Run. All proceeds from the first Vinnie's Run in 2011 created a handicapped-accessible living space for Vinnie. Since then, it became the mission of BWVR that "They Fought We Ride" would continue to assist other Vets like Vinnie. As of 2024, over 60 severely wounded Veterans have received housing modifications, mobility and transportation vehicles, education assistance, cars, and basic living needs. The organization has expanded from a singular motorcycle run to include other charity events such as the Cabin Fever Party and a First Responders Hockey Game.
NEWV also engages with WWII Veterans by bringing them back to the European battles they fought on. Since 2015, the organization has brought 40+ Veterans back to celebrate anniversaries of D-Day, Normandy, Battle of the Bulge, etc. For more information on NEWV's Back to the Battlefield Program, please visit: https://thewwiirifle.com/back-to-the-battlefield
