YMCA Youth and Government

YMCA Pennsylvania Youth and Government program is the only student-led, student-run, mock government and judicial experience of its kind in Pennsylvania. Each year, the State YMCA of Pennsylvania provides this experience to middle and high school students through hands-on experiences in the chambers of the State Capitol and the Supreme Court.

The YMCA Youth and Government Program is designed to encourage civic engagement by teaching the core principles of democracy. Youth and Government clubs are organized throughout the state in collaboration with local schools or YMCAs and coordinated at the statewide level by the State YMCA of Pennsylvania. Educators form clubs as a means to explore classroom lessons in a hands-on environment.
