VETERANS YOGA PROJECT
ALAMEDA, CaliforniaVeterans Yoga Project (VYP) envisions a world where where all those affected by trauma have access to a full range of mind-body practices to facilitate recovery and resilience. VYP is an education and direct services organization dedicated to improving the health and well being of military veterans and active-duty personnel at home and around the globe. VYP offers these same tools for resilience and recovery to veteran and military families, caregivers, first responders and health care workers. Working in partnership with veterans, active-duty military personnel, student veterans organizations, and other non-profit organizations, Veterans Yoga Project supports recovery and promotes resilience among veterans, their families, and their communities. Veterans Yoga Project is a IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
Veterans Yoga Project teaches self-regulation skills. Our Mindful Resilience/Mindful Yoga program consists of five tools: Breath, Meditation, Mindful Movement, Guided Rest, and Gratitude. These practices are adapted and delivered to maximize their ability to undo the nervous system dysfunctions that underlie symptoms of PTS(D) and stress or trauma-related conditions.
