We provide a safe, supportive space where family and friends – including children and pets - are welcome to visit their loved one at any hour. We offer a sanctuary that alleviates the trauma and stress that families endure during a challenging time. With the hospice patient’s unique needs being carefully and continuously addressed by our Pappus House team, we reduce the demands of caregiving, allowing families to experience meaningful interactions and treasured time together, setting them on a healthier path for their grief journey.
Our home, located in York County, Pennsylvania, features eight thoughtfully-designed and intentionally spacious bedrooms with high ceilings, large windows, and an innovative bed that rotates 90 degrees for face-to-face interactions. Wide French doors enable beds to be wheeled onto adjoining private patios – allowing even bed-bound residents to enjoy serenity of nature. Shared spaces include a dining room, living rooms, reflection room, and tranquil gardens.
Throughout our home, senses are enveloped by the comforting aroma of home-cooked meals and freshly baked desserts, along with joyful hum of friendly conversations and the soothing sounds of volunteers sharing their musical talents.
We cherish comfort and connection by hosting family meals as a meaningful opportunity for our care team to engage with our visiting families, fostering stronger relationships and enhancing our compassionate support. As they gather in our dining room, families enjoy the camaraderie of meeting others on a common journey.
Our residents are respectfully asked to contribute towards their stay in our home; however, they are not denied admission based on their ability to pay the full cost. Through community support, charitable services are available, reducing a barrier to quality care.
