Harbor is an early-stage community support initiative being developed by Foundations FYI to make it easier for individuals and families to find practical help, local resources, volunteers, donors, and community partners.
The planned platform will help organize immediate needs such as food, clothing, transportation, utility assistance, moving help, family support, recovery resources, employment connections, and household needs. It is intended to help people understand where to turn, reduce confusion between organizations, and make it easier for volunteers and donors to respond to real needs in the community.
Foundations FYI is currently researching the platform, gathering direct input from people experiencing hardship, identifying service gaps, building community partnerships, and developing the structure for a Flathead County pilot.
Harbor is not yet a completed public app. This project supports the planning, design, research, testing, and early development needed to create a safe, useful, and accountable community-support platform.
Donations will support user research, community interviews, program design, website and app planning, volunteer coordination, data privacy and safety planning, technical development, testing, outreach materials, and pilot implementation.
Harbor is being designed to complement existing organizations, not replace them, by helping people find the right resource and helping communities respond more effectively.
