"Launch Transitional Housing for Veterans & Homeless in Williamston, North Carolina"
by Braystone Outreach Ministries, Inc.Help us launch Williamston’s first transitional housing program for veterans, low-income individuals, and the homeless.
We are a faith-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit incorporated in June 2025 in rural Williamston, North Carolina, working to open a transitional housing facility by November 2025. Our program will serve those who have served us — veterans — as well as individuals experiencing homelessness or extreme financial hardship.
Right now, our most urgent need is funding to secure a master lease on a home. This step is critical: we cannot begin offering services, training, or connect with the state’s housing systems (like HMIS and Coordinated Entry) until we have a residence secured.
Fundraising Goal: $45,000
This amount will cover:
• First and last month’s rent on a suitable property
• Security deposit and utility startup costs
• Basic furnishings and safety inspections
• Administrative setup and licensing requirements
• Insurance and initial operational costs
This initial funding allows us to begin offering essential services, including:
• Case management and intake
• Financial literacy and budgeting
• Employment referrals and workforce re-entry support
• Optional Bible study and faith-based mentorship
We are already in communication with:
• North Carolina Balance of State CoC
• Veterans housing services
• NCCEH (North Carolina Coalition to End Homelessness)
However, they require us to secure a physical location before we can complete the required training and begin receiving referrals through Coordinated Entry and HMIS.
We are pushing to open our doors by November, in time for the winter months when housing is most critical. With your help, we can take this first, foundational step.
Every dollar moves us closer to placing someone in a warm bed instead of the streets.
Please consider donating or sharing this project with others who believe in giving veterans and struggling individuals a real second chance.
