VETERAN RECREATION OHIO

Veteran Recreation Ohio is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the mental health and overall well-being of veterans through meaningful recreational experiences. We partner with trusted programs across Ohio that use recreation to promote healing, connection, and renewed purpose for those who have served. Our mission is to make therapeutic recreation accessible to every veteran who needs it, regardless of age, background, or service era.

We provide direct funding, resources, and community support to organizations that use recreation as a pathway to recovery. These activities include outdoor adventures, fishing programs, creative arts, fitness and wellness events, adaptive sports, woodworking, and a wide range of community based recreational therapies. Each program is selected for its proven ability to build resilience, strengthen social bonds, and create positive mental health outcomes.

Veteran Recreation Ohio believes that healing is not limited to clinical settings. It grows naturally when veterans reconnect with their strengths, rediscover joy in a shared experience, and find a place where they belong. By supporting diverse recreational opportunities, we help veterans regain confidence, reduce isolation, and build healthier, more hopeful lives.
