The Mission of United Way of Decatur & Mid-Illinois (UWDMI) is to lead community transformation through effective, efficient, and integrated solutions that empower everyone to be self-sufficient. United Way of Decatur & Mid-Illinois envisions a community in which everyone has the opportunity to be self-sufficient.

United Way of Decatur and Mid-Illinois (UWDMI) has impacted our community for over 100 years. We have dedicated ourselves to improving lives, creating opportunities, and building a stronger future for the Central Illinois Region. We have collaborated with community partners and engaged in genuine partnerships with families. Our traditional United Way model has supported over 75 community programs over the last five years. This is in addition to our own United Way programs through our advanced model that supports our First Responder and Veteran Resource and Wellness Counselor, Hispanic Resource Liaison, and our ALICE Project. Our ALICE Project (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) supports working-class families living paycheck-to-paycheck that face a crisis.
