TOTALLY POSITIVE PRODUCTIONS

Totally Positive Productions (TPP) is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization founded in 1993 by Tajudeena Jones, a U.S. Veteran, with the vision of enhancing the quality of life for youth in economically disadvantaged communities such as Englewood, West Englewood, Back of the Yards, and surrounding neighborhoods in Chicago, Illinois. Our mission is to produce Positive Rap (P-RAP), Singing, Dance, Theater, and Spoken Word Talent Competitions/Concerts as well as create positive “Off the Street” activities for youth ages one and up, and adults, serving as a deterrent to gang and drug involvement.

Our organization was established to combat the pervasive issues of gang violence and drug activity among youth in these communities. The areas we serve are some of the most violent neighborhoods in Chicago, characterized by high poverty rates and often single and working parents unable to provide supervision after school hours. To address these challenges, TPP organizes talent competitions, and a range of gang-intervention programs based on best practices from The National Crime Prevention Council. These include our Community Works Crime Prevention Project, which teaches crime prevention strategies to youth and adults, and our Educational/Cultural Enrichment Field Trips Project, which takes participants on enriching field trips to deter engagement in destructive activities.

TPP also offers a Youth/Adult/Senior Citizen Youth Employment and Training Program targeting Chicagoland residents from communities hardest hit by violence, providing temporary employment to achieve violence prevention and educational improvement. Our Love Your Community - Random Acts of Kindness Initiative is part of our community outreach, distributing thousands of bouquets, amenity kits, and clothes to those in need.

We thrive on providing a constructive outlet for youth and adults to grow mentally, academically, and socially. Our programs invigorate and inspire participants to harness their potential, with a focus on building leadership skills, enhancing educational achievements, and preventing crime. Through our initiatives, we have positively impacted over 30,000 youth, young adults, and their families.

Totally Positive Productions has received commendations from various Chicago officials and has partnered with numerous organizations such as Teamwork Englewood, Greater West Town Training Partnership, and Gary Comer Youth Center to further our mission. Our board of directors, comprised of nine members who have firsthand experience with community challenges, spearheads our fundraising activities and supports our organizational goals.

At TPP, we are committed to creating a safe and supportive environment where youth feel welcomed and appreciated, enabling them to grow into productive adults and transform the negative image of their neighborhoods. Our dedication to fostering community collaboration and empowerment is evident in our ongoing efforts to provide opportunities and resources for those we serve.
