Project Proposal: "Growing Together" Raised Garden Expansion at Kiddy Up Ranch

by KIDDY UP RANCH INC

Overview:
Kiddy Up Ranch, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is seeking support for an educational gardening expansion project as part of our Farmstead Agricultural Education Program. Our ranch provides hands-on farm-based learning opportunities for children and youth of all abilities, including at-risk populations, homeschoolers, and students with special needs.
We are proposing the installation of additional raised garden beds to grow a greater variety of fruits, vegetables, and herbs. These gardens will not only serve as an outdoor classroom but also help fund our mission through produce sales at our on-site market.
Project Goals:
Expand our existing garden to support increased participation in agricultural education classes.

Grow and sell organic, ranch-grown produce to support our nonprofit’s programs and operations.

Offer experiential learning in sustainable farming, nutrition, and entrepreneurship.

Foster responsibility, confidence, and teamwork in learners of all ages and abilities.

We are in need of the following materials to bring this project to life:
Soil for filling raised beds

Granulated lime to help condition the soil

Heirloom and seasonal seeds for planting

Garden stakes and plant labels for organizing and educational use

Additional raised bed materials (wood, screws, tools if possible)

Why This Matters:
Our garden is more than just a teaching tool—it’s a place of healing, growth, and connection. Students learn how to nurture the earth, themselves, and each other. For many of our youth, especially those facing social, emotional, or academic challenges, the garden provides a calm, purposeful space that promotes resilience and life skills.
