The Northeast Ohio Foundation for Patriotism (NEOPAT) is an established 501(c)3 organization which plays a vital role in keeping the promise to foster growth for our military community. Our mission is to promote patriotism, support military families and remember those that have gone before us.
Since NEOPAT was founded in 2011, numerous veterans and military families have been impacted by our mission resulting in over $5 million in direct impact. Currently our region contains over 300,000 veterans and over 8,000 individuals in active military units. Most importantly, among these are the friends and families of the 113 young men and women from Northeast Ohio who have died serving our country since 9/11.
Key Programs and Pillars of Support
Emergency Support - Helping on the home front with emergency support such as medical, food and housing needs to military and veteran families, assisting with utility payments and basic needs, and championing an annual adopt-a-military family program.
Mental Wellness - Supporting mental wellness through access to alternative therapies such as outdoor recreation, arts, music, pet, and equine programs for military and veteran families, providing opportunities for healing, connection, and stress relief. NEOPAT works to ensure families have access to these innovative approaches to mental health, alongside traditional support services, fostering resilience and well-being.
Community Engagement - Fostering community engagement by connecting veterans, military families, and the broader community through scholarships, workforce development, and partnerships with veteran and military employee resource groups. NEOPAT also promotes patriotism through projects like Operation Flags of Freedom, youth essay contests, salute to service programs, and volunteer opportunities.
Remembrance - Honoring patriots who have given the ultimate sacrifice through meaningful remembrance initiatives that ensure their legacy lives on. This includes recognizing an annual Charles Kirby Wilcox Honoree, a tribute to a fallen hero whose life and service inspire others. NEOPAT also supports Gold Star Families, providing opportunities for connection, healing, and recognition within the community.
