In partnership with the City of Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, and dozens of neighborhood organizations, Preservation Pittsburgh is currently leading the effort to list each of the City’s historic regional parks on the National Register of Historic Places. Our parks represent a unique piece of our shared history. The City’s Cultural Heritage Plan recommends listing each regional park on the National Register and until we launched the Parks Initiative in 2018, only Schenley Park was listed. We successfully listed Frick Park and Highland Park in 2019 and are working to list the North Side's Riverview Park in 2020. After Riverview, we will turn our attention to other parks in conjunction with community partners.
