The Jimmy Miller Memorial Foundation is a non-profit, tax exempt 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the healing of mental, emotional, psychological and physical abuse through the healing powers of the ocean and group talk therapy. Our unique Ocean Therapy Program in recognized as the founder and leader in using surfing as a form of healing. Inspired by the life of Jimmy Miller, the JMMF provides free of charge Ocean Therapy sessions to the United States Marine Corps Wounded Warrior Battalion-West, Veterans from the West LA Veterans Hospital, youth from several care and shelter facilities for at risk, abused and foster children. We have expanded our Ocean Therapy Program to include frontline healthcare providers traumatize by the effects of COVID-19. The JMMF Ocean Therapy program for the Marines takes place year round on the beach at Camp Pendleton and the program for the Veterans, children and healthcare workers operates on the beach at Manhattan Beach, CA during the spring and summer months.

The Jimmy Miller Memorial Foundation was established in 2005 to honor Jimmy Miller, an incredible waterman who focused his life around the ocean and sharing his joy of surfing with as many people as possible. Jimmy was a surfer, writer, traveler, ocean lifeguard, teacher and business owner of Pure Surfing Experience surfing school.
