The SoupMobile is a mobile soup kitchen that was founded in 2003 by David Timothy, a.k.a., The SoupMan. The Mission Statement of the SoupMobile consists of three simple words spoken by Jesus himself, "Feed MY Sheep". We believe He meant more than just food. He also meant love, caring, compassion and shelter.

Mission #1 -- Feeding the Homeless -
Since most homeless individuals do not have transportation, we take the food to them. In the first year of operation, the SoupMan served over 5,000 meals to the homeless under the bridges of Dallas. We now provide over 250,000 meals per year.
We also have a weekly "Feed the Neighborhood Program", where we distribute food to the needy residents in the neighborhood on Dallas' South side. Especially in the summer months, the 'groceries' often go to families with children that are not being fed as part of a school lunch program.
Mission #2 - Sheltering the Homeless-
The SoupMobile Shelter program is specifically designed to help address the homeless problem in Dallas, Texas. In the Dallas area alone there are estimated to be up to 10,000 homeless individuals. Even more tragic is that one out of four homeless is a Veteran. With only 2,500 shelter beds available on any given night, simple math tells us there is not enough ‘Room at the Inn.’
As such the SoupMobile Shelter program is NOT a one size fits all program. In fact our shelter program has many facets including:
Safe House for women fleeing domestic violence.
Multiple apartment/lodging units throughout the Dallas area.
Motel Housing assistance program that provides short term emergency housing.
Sponsored Housing program in conjunction with the downtown Dallas Omni Hotel, Matthews Southwest & NBC 5 which provides housing for women & children who do not have a place to call home. Click here to view video coverage of this partnership.
Duplex for homeless Veterans.
Mission # 3 -- Christmas for the Homeless -
As a special event, each year at Christmas we take 500 homeless men, women and children off the streets and put them up at a fancy downtown hotel. They all get new clothes, gifts and love, but the most important thing is they wake up on Christmas morning in a safe, warm bed. We have a huge banquet for them and in their honor. Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings comes in a tux and serves as our Chief Server for the day. In 2014, the Dallas Omni Hotel hosted the event once again, and entertainment was provided by the Vocal Majority Chorus. In 2015, the Dallas Young Strings provided the entertainment at the Omni Hotel.
Mission # 4 -- Christ for the Homeless
In Honor of Christ, the SoupMobile built a church for the homeless in South Dallas in 2014. It is their very own 'home' church. At SoupMobile Church, the homeless are the 'Members', and if you and I attend, we will be their 'Guests'.
At SoupMobile Church, the homeless receive the call to Christ every week. The church also provides job training, counseling, and life skills training, and hosts wholesome activities like picnics and barbecues.
SoupMobile Church is led by SoupMobile Pastor Sister Lisa, who says she "leads by following Christ". The Church also has visiting Pastors that cater to the Homeless Population.
