Enby is a ballet about a black, non-binary artist's struggle to find acceptance within a system that rejects them. A counter-classical score mixes gospel and rnb with the baroque to truly reflect the duality of the protagonist's worlds.
This project is a recording of the first 15 minutes of the ballet, the introduction, and the first vignette. This project will take place in five stages. Firstly, before recording the music, I will raise $10,000 through private funding. The second stage consists of the rehearsal and recording of the music. With the music having been completed I will raise the remaining 6,311.09 via grant applications. After recording the music, the Choreographer and their company will rehearse; this is the fourth stage. Finally, the last stage consists of recording the ballet via Steadicam footage.
Once all five stages occur Enby will be completed.
Once the recording of the first 15 minutes of Enby is completed I will then contact ballet companies through the introduction of Juilliard and the New York-based production company, The Office.
