VETERANS GUEST HOUSE INC

For the past 30 years, Veterans Guest House has served as a lifeline for veterans and their families seeking medical care in the Reno/Sparks area. Before VGH was founded in 1994 many veterans and their families would be forced to sleep in their cars or forgo care altogether. Today, VGH facility has grown to 16,000 sq feet accommodating up to 33 guests with free lodging, transportation assistance, support with basic needs (gas cards, groceries, and one-time emergency support), and one dedicated personal care assistant.

The average age of our guest is 74 years old, with and estimated 80% hailing from low-to-moderate income households. Guests and their families travel on average 159 miles one way to receive medical care. The average length of stay is 11 days. Guests are encouraged to stay and heal as long as needed before going home.
