The mission of Horses of Hope Oregon is to improve the lives of people living with physical, emotional, and behavioral challenges through innovative, accessible, safe and rewarding equine assisted therapy programs of the highest quality. We accomplish this with 'Health, Healing and Happiness through Horses' as we work collaboratively to support our clients, their families, and caregivers in a relaxed, nurturing environment that promotes wellness, enhance capabilities, and fosters independence.
Horses of Hope Oregon was established in 1988. Our history makes us the longest continuously operating equine assisted therapy program in the State of Oregon.
We are a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization providing equine assisted therapy to people with challenges. Therapeutic riding lessons are offered year-round, and coordinated with the Marion County school calendar. We pledge to serve everyone who seeks our services.
We serve approximately 80 clients weekly, with over 100 different diagnoses. Our riders are from the mid-Willamette Valley and ten surrounding counties. Horses of Hope is supported thanks to the many generous donors, foundations, sponsors and thousands of hours provided by our committed volunteers, who all represent an essential part of our success. We offer monthly orientations for those interested in becoming volunteers, and currently have over 100 volunteers generously dedicating their time and expertise.
