Copăceni Palliative Care Hospital

von ROMANIAN UNITED FUND

We are embarking on a profound mission to create Romania's first hospital dedicated to children's palliative care in Adunații-Copăceni, near Bucharest. This landmark project will provide crucial, comprehensive care for children with incurable illnesses and their families, complementing existing services such as daycare, therapy, respite care, home care, and summer camps.

Hospital Design The hospital will feature a 10-bed palliative care unit, including specialized care for very young children, designed pro-bono by renowned architect Dorin Stefan. Sustainability is at the heart of the project, with eco-friendly construction overseen by Optim Management.

The Impact of Your Support This hospital will directly benefit:

Children needing intensive palliative care – with 200 admissions expected per year.
Families of these children – around 400 family members will receive much-needed support.
Educational Role The hospital will also serve as a hub for pediatric palliative care education, training a specialist team of 12 and offering courses to 50 healthcare professionals annually. This initiative builds on a legacy of over 32,000 palliative care training sessions at our Brasov and Bucharest centers.

Together, we are building more than just a hospital—we are building hope, care, and compassion for children in need.

Budget and Fundraising With an estimated budget of €4 million, RUF is launching a global campaign in collaboration with HOSPICE Casa Speranței to make this vital project a reality. Your support can make a lasting difference for these children and their families.
