The International Concussion Society (ICS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and the world's premier scientific association dedicated to the research, treatment, and prevention of concussions and traumatic brain injury (TBI).

Concussions are the most common form of TBI — yet they remain one of the most misunderstood and underdiagnosed conditions in medicine. Each year, millions of people sustain concussions through sports, military service, accidents, and everyday activities. Many go undiagnosed. Many more receive inadequate care. Persistent symptoms — including post-traumatic headache, cognitive impairment, and emotional dysregulation — can last months or years, significantly impacting quality of life, academic performance, career, and family.

ICS serves as the organization behind Concussion.org, the world's central repository of peer-reviewed, scientifically-vetted concussion research. We equip medical professionals, researchers, athletes, coaches, administrators, caregivers, and patients with accurate, reliable, and actionable information — all in one place.

Our work spans three core pillars:
— Research: Supporting and disseminating cutting-edge concussion science through partnerships with leading academic medical institutions, including Harvard and Mayo Clinic.
— Education: Providing clinical education resources for healthcare providers and accessible information for patients, families, and the public.
— Advocacy: Championing the needs of underserved concussion patients, including veterans and service members, through programs like Project Odin's Eye.

Project Odin's Eye is ICS's dedicated veteran TBI initiative, addressing the unique needs of service members and veterans living with traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic headache — conditions that affect hundreds of thousands of those who have served our country and remain underserved by existing healthcare and advocacy systems.
Post-traumatic headache (PTH) is the most common symptom following concussion, yet no major nonprofit or pharmaceutical advocacy organization has established a meaningful presence in this space. ICS is filling that gap — building the infrastructure, education, and awareness that PTH patients and their providers urgently need.
