FRIENDS OF ELK GROVE ANIMAL SHELTER

Friends of Elk Grove Animal Shelter was founded in September of 2016 as a nonprofit to support the City of Elk Grove Animal Shelter. As a nonprofit, we offer tax deductible donations, hold fundraisers to benefit our shelter/community pets and apply for grants offered only to nonprofits. We are here to support our community pets in any way we can. We cover adoption fees for pets adopted from the City of Elk Grove Animal Shelter for all veterans, (active/retired) We collect donations of food, toys and blankets for families in need, rescuers and homeless pet owners. Paws for a Purpose was added to assist with emergency veterinary costs for our shelter pets as well as the pets belonging to the residents of Elk Grove. Costs for life-threatening care can be catastrophic, leading to surrender or unfortunately euthanasia! At any given moment we can be faced with a veterinarian cost far above our budget. To date, we have assisted with medical/dental vet costs for over 250 pets! Most would not have survived without our emergency funding or would have drastically shortened their life span.
