La Vernia Historical Association has completed two out of three phases in the building of the La Vernia Veterans Memorial at the City Park. Phase three is the 21 foot tall Obelisk. We have an annual Veterans Day event at the memorial, weather permitting. The Memorial is a place for families to visit and see the name of the Veteran on their service wall and to honor our hero Veterans. We maintain the database and annually escribe new found area veterans along with needed maintenance.
