American Legion Post 67 Rincon Inc. Building Renovation Phase 1
von LEGION AMERICANA PUESTO 67 RINCON INCThe American Legion Post 67 Inc. building located in Rincon PR was built in 2008 with the help of legislative funding from Senator Luis Daniel Muñiz and Representative David Bonilla. The construction of the building was completed in 2012, and since then meetings and services have been carried out. There have not been any renovations or upgrades done to the building, other than painting inside the building in 2019.
The building is in need of painting on the exterior of the building. Paint is peeling and roof needs re-ceiling. The extreme humidity, rain and heat have deteriorated the exterior of the building.
The fans in each bathroom are not working properly and need to be replaced.
It is important to note that Post 67 Rincon building has been designated as an emergency shelter in case of disasters by the Municipality of Rincon, PR. It is also noted that the only the American Legion Post 67 Rincon Inc. is a place for veterans to gather, meet other veterans, and obtain much needed resources, such as benefits, and mental heath and welfare.
To that end, it is crucial that the American Legion Post 67 Rincon Inc building be safe, and in functioning condition to continue to provide support to veterans in our community, as well as receive visiting agencies, such as Veterans Affairs (VA), VA Hospital, and other military agencies to continue to provide services to veterans in our community.
