Building New Homes: The team at Central SC Habitat will build 30 homes over the next three years. More than 98% of Habitat homeowners pay off their mortgage. The average cost of one home is approximately $100,000 to complete, although other sponsorship levels are available. The economic impact of each home built is estimated at almost $500,000 to the communities where they are built.

Brush with Kindness: Central SC Habitat partners will renovate or improve 30 additional homes over the next three years. This program provides needed support to senior citizens and veterans who may not otherwise have the assets to complete these repairs. Repair costs vary, depending on the extent of the repairs. Simple improvements can help increase the overall value of homes in a community where Brush with Kindness and Neighborhood Revitalization help to increase the overall property values of an at-risk neighborhood and increase pride in properties in those areas.

Neighborhood Revitalization: Central SC Habitat employees and volunteers will work in six neighborhoods in Richland and Lexington Counties over the next 10 years. By focusing on entire neighborhoods, it not only improves property values with new builds, but with painting, yard clean-up, and other projects that help restore the value of the entire area. Again, repairs vary, depending on the extent of the need.

Special Projects: Central South Carolina Habitat and its partners will add a second ReStore location, purchase vehicles necessary for construction and relocate to an improved office space. These projects can help expand our capacity and help us reach our goals faster.
