COMTO is the Voice of Equity in Transportation. For 52 years, COMTO has worked to ensure that transportation meets the needs of all users and students receive support as they consider careers in STEM disciplines. The Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) is the leading national advocate for employment diversity, inclusion and contracting opportunities in the multi-modal, multi-billion-dollar transportation industry. Our mission is to eliminate barriers to maximum participation for minority individuals, veterans, people with disabilities and certified MWDBE businesses through leadership training, professional development, scholarship and internship funding, political advocacy, partnership building and networking opportunities.

COMTO’s National Scholarship Program supports our strategic goal of ensuring the continuing legacy of minorities in transportation. COMTO annually awards multiple national academic scholarships, ranging from $500 to $6,000 each to minority graduate and undergraduate students from across the country. Scholarship awardees are represented in all academic backgrounds and pursuing various careers in the transportation industry.

The COMTO Careers in Transportation for Youth (CITY) Internship Program provides minority college juniors and seniors with a unique opportunity to gain professional and practical experience in the transportation industry.
