Village Family is a hunger relief nonprofit that provides a trusted one stop safe haven with quality food, clothing, essentials and resources for the community through partnership and donated pantry space from First Calvary Baptist Church 813 Henry Street located in Norfolk Virginia. These services help minimize social isolation, loneliness, and mental illness conditions such as depression for example. Village Family is unifying with community partners with the same vision in order to secure a sustainable future for the food pantry that will enable us to establish a Quality Food and Community Resource Center essentials distribution program for those experiencing food insecurity and financial hardship. Village Family integrates nutritious food items, health awareness, financial literacy and community events to transform lives. Our subsidiary social enterprise, Event Parteez, and Community Family Reunion™ S.A.F.E program enables us to collaborate with community partners to organize cultural exchange events, art exhibitions, and performances to celebrate the diversity within our community. These projects foster understanding, respect, and harmony among different cultural groups that are designed to keep our children Safe, Fed, Active and Educated in a trusted safe haven. Together, with a cadre of volunteers, we relieve hunger insecurity; promote education, nutrition and health. Our mission is to make sure that no-one that comes to us in need goes without assistance or experiences hunger.
Your support will help us us raise awareness, provide more healthy choices, clothing, mobile essential resources to the homebound seniors and a safe haven for our outreach distribution. I truly believe this partnership will lead to effective training, employment opportunities and improve the health of our community. The City of Norfolk could use a community outreach center that utilize the Village Family mission to feed, clothe and educate to improve the quality of lives of others.
