SPIRITHORSE THERAPEUTIC RIDING CENTER

Therapeutic riding uses horses to help individuals who suffer from a variety of physical, mental, emotional and behavioral challenges. The goal is to facilitate improvements in many aspects of their lives including socially, physically, and emotionally.

Because the horse's gait most closely approximates a human’s walking motion, therapeutic riding gently and rhythmically moves the rider's body in a fashion that enhances muscle strength, balance, and flexibility.

For individuals facing emotional or mental challenges the discipline, companionship, and routine of the partnership between horse and rider helps promote self-esteem, patience, and confidence.

Virtually all riders, with or without special challenges, find that horseback riding and equine activities fosters independence.

Each student will have individual attention to help improve their quality of life through the interaction with the horse. The methods used are proven from SpiritHorse International. Students will proceed through the program according to their own ability.
