LVC facilitates access to all services and resources available to female veterans and fosters helpful relationships and connections.
LVC is an advocate for all female veterans, educating local communities about the issues female veterans are facing and creating a space for them to identify as veterans and be honored and recognized for their service.
LVC hosts events throughout the year to encourage all female veterans to attend and learn more about the resources and services that are available to them.
LVC provides furniture, clothing, household items, and food assistance to all veterans and their families.
Women veterans have a 166.1% higher suicide rate than non-veteran women dying by suicide. Risk factors for suicide are from isolation, trauma, lack of connection, homelessness, social relationships, and family stress according to America's Warrior Partnership: https://youtu.be/403hB2ADa8.
According to a HUD report homelessness rate has decreased in the veteran population but continues to grow among women veterans by 24%, and suicide with the women veteran population continues to increase. This knowledge and data are the driving force behind why LVC exists.
Lady Veterans Connect addresses the risk of homelessness through trauma-informed programming that explores the impact of Military Sexual Trauma (MST), Intimate Partner Violence (IPV), and sociocultural influences. LVC provides individualized and group support, along with structured activities including Meet and Connect events, workshops, retreats, and resiliency training. These initiatives foster community, reduce isolation, and offer valuable opportunities for future research and engagement.
LVC promotes sustainable independent living, healing, and improved self-efficacy.
New challenges await LVC as we are focusing on making a dream a reality of providing cottages for women veterans with children to have a safe place to heal and bond from the traumas in their lives. Together we can make this vision a reality!
