OPEN STUDIO PROJECT INC

Open Studio Project provides high-quality, equity-centered arts programming designed to improve mental health, build social emotional skills, and strengthen communities. We achieve these outcomes through the Open Studio Process, an evidence-based therapeutic approach that consists of mindfulness practices, open-ended and comment-free art making, and reflective writing. OSP provides school-based programs to Pre-K through high school students; expressive arts workshops to adults for professional development and personal growth; specialized art programming for individuals experiencing homelessness, adults with disabilities, military veterans, and court-involved youth; and therapeutic art sessions for youth and adults in both individual and group settings. In addition to these creative arts programs, OSP offers specialized training and certification for adult practitioners seeking to apply the Open Studio Process to their work with students and clients. The Facilitator Training Intensive prepares individuals to lead classes and workshops that utilize the Open Studio Process in their own communities, as certified OSP facilitators. The Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Training Intensive course provides classroom teachers, school counselors, and social workers with hands-on training in the evidence-based Open Studio Project SEL curriculum, a series of creative arts lessons based on visual art and social emotional learning standards. Both of these training programs are offered in-person and virtually, with trainees joining from locations all over the world to deliver the Open Studio Process to their own communities.
