Unified Resources Recreation - Activities for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities

Unified Resources Recreation’s (URR) mission is to enrich and empower lives. Under the umbrella of Axess Family Services, this program serves people in Portage County who have developmental disabilities. We are funded by the Portage County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

We were founded in 2002 as an AmeriCorps program under the name POWERcorps. 2012 saw us successfully transition from AmeriCorps to a fully funded community program. We began transitioning to our new name in 2016, but we kept all the same aspects our community knows and loves.

With our fun-loving crew, it’s easy to make friends everywhere we go, whether it’s Playhouse Square, Kent State’s campus, or local restaurants. We also provide virtual activities. All participants require eligibility for services from the Portage County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
