MAKING TECHNOLOGY FUN INC

We are the BruinBots, a veteran FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) team. FTC is a worldwide robotics competition for young teens to practice Gracious Professionalism while learning Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) skills. Teams collaborate and create a robot to complete various challenges, while working with other randomly selected teams.

The team consists of eight students from the Lake Braddock Secondary School area in 7th through 12th grade. We advanced to the Regional level of competition two years ago, and last year were awarded the Rockwell Collins Innovation Award. This year, we’d like to continue to have fun; improve upon our past record; and increase our knowledge about robotics, 3D printing, programming, CAD/CAM, design, and engineering. Our coaches are neighborhood Dads who work in DoD Science and Engineering positions, and several other parents provide mentoring. We are also proud to have Marty, a rubber chicken, as our team mascot.

We are supported by Making Technology Fun, a 501(c)3 non-profit with the goal of advancing STEM education in the local community. With your contribution, you can enable us to reach our goals. A typical competition season costs ~$3,000. We appreciate anything you can offer to help us get there!
