Viva CalleSJ is a periodic city-wide project that creates a car-free environment by clearing several miles of streets and allowing families and kids and friends and neighbors to walk, bike, skate, skateboard and otherwise traverse the open streets free of automobile traffic. It is a community celebration that brings thousands of residents together. There are food trucks, booths, giveaways, as well as the normal businesses along the route.
