Utility Works is a 7,500 sq. ft. arts facility in the heart of Lansdowne, located at 32 East Baltimore Ave. It currently houses 23 artist studios, a coworking space, a fully equipped MakerSpace classroom, a ceramics studio, a public gallery, and an on-site juice bar.
At the start of 2024, the MakerSpace was located at a separate storefront at 18 North Lansdowne Ave. Due to limitations in capacity, we consolidated the MakerSpace into our Utility Works building, which allowed us to transform our delivery model: classes now occur in the heart of our artist community, equipment and teaching staff are easier to share, and participants benefit from immediate access to studios, gallery programming, and peer mentorship. The move improved accessibility, reduced logistical friction, and strengthened
programmatic outcomes.
