DENTON ANIMAL SUPPORT FOUNDATION INC

The Denton Animal Support Foundation (DASF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of pets in the Denton, Texas community. Founded in 2006 to support the City of Denton Animal Shelter, DASF has grown to address pet homelessness, neglect, and abandonment through a wide range of shelter support and community outreach programs. DASF receives no government funding and relies entirely on donations from individuals, businesses, and grants to carry out its mission.

DASF Programs:
Adoption Subsidy Grants
These grants help lower adoption fees for harder-to-place animals at the City of Denton Animal Shelter, including senior pets, long-stay animals, and those with medical or behavioral needs. By removing cost barriers, DASF helps connect more pets with loving homes.

Emergency Pet Food Pantry
This program supports families facing financial hardship by providing pet food to those in need. The pantry feeds approximately 1,200 pets every month, helping prevent animals from being surrendered due to a lack of resources.

Low-Cost Vaccine Clinics
In partnership with the Texas Coalition for Animal Protection (TCAP), DASF offers free rabies vaccinations and low-cost vaccines to Denton County residents, serving about 1,000 pets annually. These clinics are essential to keeping pets healthy and compliant with local animal ordinances.

Spay/Neuter Program
DASF offers financial assistance for spay/neuter procedures to individuals and rescue organizations. This program helps reduce pet overpopulation and supports responsible pet ownership.

Community Outreach and In-Take Diversion
DASF’s outreach efforts are focused on keeping pets with their families whenever possible. By offering resources to the homeless, elderly, disabled, and veterans, DASF plays a vital role in preventing shelter intake and strengthening the human-animal bond.
