Washington County Veteran Services employs six full time Veteran Service Officers (VSOs) and a Housing Coordinator. A VSO is an advocate for veterans and their families. VSOs explain what benefits a veteran or his/her family may be eligible to receive and assists them in the application process. VSOs are highly skilled professionals that are accredited by the Federal Veterans Administration to assist veterans in the claims process. Washington County Veteran Services represents our veterans beginning with their initial application(s) all the way through the appeal process as needed.

In addition, Washington County Veteran Services organizes a Veterans Stand Down each year to provide a one stop resource fair for homeless veterans. Our Housing Coordinator assist veterans navigate housing benefits available to them in Washington County.
