Why We Exist:
The Adaptive Athlete Power Association (AAPA) was founded with a singular mission: to provide a safe and supportive space where adaptive athletes can find independence, build confidence, and connect with a community that understands their unique journeys. Life-altering events—whether physical injuries, neurological conditions, amputations, or other impairments—can drastically impact a person’s quality of life. The AAPA exists to help individuals reclaim what was lost, to support their efforts in rebuilding, and to offer them the resources they need to live their fullest lives. Whether it's competing at the highest levels in the Paralympics, engaging with their families in everyday activities, or reaching other personal milestones, our organization is here to support them every step of the way.
At the heart of our mission is the belief that every person, regardless of ability or impairment, deserves the chance to pursue their dreams and overcome obstacles that might otherwise seem insurmountable. We are committed to empowering adaptive athletes to see beyond their limitations and redefine what’s possible.
Who We Serve:
The AAPA serves individuals who have experienced physical or neurological trauma and need adaptation to pursue their goals. Whether someone is facing challenges due to an amputation, a neurological condition such as multiple sclerosis, or any other impairment, we offer the resources, community, and support necessary to help them regain confidence, independence, and a sense of purpose. Our services are inclusive and open to anyone who requires assistance in adapting their training or daily routines to meet their individual needs.
We understand that each athlete’s journey is unique, and our mission is to ensure they have the tools and encouragement needed to achieve their personal goals. From aspiring Paralympians to individuals who simply want to participate more fully in life with their loved ones, we are here to help every athlete, regardless of their age or stage in their journey.
What Change We Want to Create:
At AAPA, we aim to create a world where adaptive athletes have the opportunity to learn how to adapt to their environment. By providing adaptive athletes with a space that understands their specific needs, we offer more than just physical training; we offer a community. Our goal is to make sure that every individual who walks through our doors or connects with our programs knows they are valued, heard, and supported. We want to see every athlete break through barriers—whether physical, emotional, or societal—and achieve goals that they once thought were out of reach.
Through our programs, we strive to foster an environment where athletes can not only train but truly thrive. We believe that the work we do has the power to transform lives—both on and off the training floor. In addition to helping athletes with their physical development, we also focus on building mental resilience, fostering a sense of community, and nurturing the emotional and psychological strength that are critical to long-term success.
Our Vision:
Our vision is a world where adaptive athletes of all abilities are celebrated. We envision a society where people with disabilities or impairments have the resources and opportunities to reach their fullest potential. A world where training spaces are universally accessible, where the limitations imposed by physical or neurological conditions are constantly redefined, and where adaptive athletes are empowered to succeed in whatever path they choose.
The AAPA is committed to building a future where every adaptive athlete, regardless of their background or disability, has access to the tools, resources, and community necessary to thrive. Our vision is to create an inclusive world where athletes are no longer held back by their impairments but are instead given the power to break through obstacles and achieve extraordinary things.
Our Mission:
The Adaptive Athlete Power Association (AAPA) exists to provide a safe and supportive space for adaptive athletes to gain independence, build confidence, and connect with a community that understands their journey. We are committed to supporting individuals who have experienced physical or neurological trauma—whether due to amputation, neurological conditions, or other impairments—by helping them rebuild their lives and achieve their personal goals. Whether it's competing in the Paralympics, playing with their children, or reaching other personal milestones, our goal is to empower athletes to overcome obstacles and redefine what’s possible.
Through our programs, we serve anyone who needs adaptation to pursue their goals and find the confidence and independence to thrive. We understand the importance of personalized support, and our approach is designed to meet each athlete where they are in their journey, offering adaptive solutions that are both effective and empowering. Our mission is not only to provide a space for physical development but to create a community that nurtures the mental and emotional resilience required for success.
Our Commitment:
At the AAPA, we are deeply committed to helping adaptive athletes not just achieve their goals but exceed their expectations. We want to be more than just a training facility—we want to be a lifeline. Our team works tirelessly to build a community where athletes can gain access to world-class resources, support, and guidance. From adaptive training programs to mental health support and everything in between, we are here to ensure that every athlete has what they need to succeed.
We believe in the power of community, and we understand that no one can thrive in isolation. That’s why we focus on building relationships among athletes, coaches, and supporters to create a collaborative, motivating environment. At the AAPA, everyone is part of something bigger—a movement that is transforming what it means to be an athlete with a disability.
