RANCH RESCUE

The Ranch Rescue is a veteran, female, non-profit 501(c)(3) cat/kitten rescue located in Lake
City, Florida. Our mission is to provide a safe haven for animals in need, focusing on the rescue,
rehabilitation, and rehoming of neglected, abandoned, or injured animals. As a family-oriented
and community-centered organization, we strive to create a compassionate environment where
animals can heal and thrive, while fostering a connection between our community and the
animals we serve.
The rescue was founded by Laura Rister, a disabled Marine veteran, with a deep commitment
to service—both to our country and to the animals in our care. We are currently home to a
variety of animals, from farm animals to small companion animals, each receiving individualized
care and rehabilitation.
Our mission is not only to rescue animals but also to educate the community about animal
welfare, responsible pet ownership, and the therapeutic value animals bring to people’s lives.
Our farm also offers opportunities for veterans, families, and individuals in the community to
engage in hands-on, purposeful activities that promote healing and well-being.
