For years, the Tri-Cities has seen dramatically increasing demand for youth and family mental health services. These challenges, whether chronic or brought on by a stressful life event, are too often left unaddressed, leading to risky behaviors, harmful actions, and devastating crises. Today, we serve over 600 youth annually across three offices in Kennewick and Pasco. In Kennewick alone, we serve more than 400 clients each year. But our spaces were built for a smaller caseload in a different era. We now operate at 120% capacity, and the community's need has not stopped growing.
After extensive community input and site evaluation, we selected 7011 W Canal Drive in Kennewick — a location on public transit routes, near schools, pediatric practices, and family services, creating a true hub of child and family wellness. Its presence in the community helps normalize mental health care as part of everyday life, and it provides room to grow as needs evolve. Our partners — school districts, juvenile justice programs, Greater Columbia Behavioral Health, and others — have seen our current spaces firsthand. They have witnessed the compromises we make and the families we cannot serve. Their support for this expansion has been unanimous and enthusiastic. What excites them most is our commitment to trauma-informed design: healing environments purposebuilt to promote recovery and resilience — a new standard for behavioral health care in our region.
In August 2026, LCSNW opened a new 40,000-square-foot facility at 7011 W Canal Drive — doubling our space and fundamentally transforming how we serve this community. This is not simply more offices. It is an environment designed around a single question: What does a healing space look like for traumatized youth and families?
