The mission of the Union Cultural Center is to build an inclusive community through cultural arts to heal and cultivate positive change. We do this through an array of programs including our weekly cultural arts classes, school partnerships providing cultural arts education to preschool through college students, events like our quarterly ILLUMINATE series and annual Grounded in Freedom event, and our growing health programs including cultural cooking classes and Nourishian life skills and job training for young adults. We believe in the power of cultural arts as a tool for transformation. We leverage the joy of dancing, singing, and sharing meals as a path towards well-being, self-expression, community building, cultural identity, and a way to provoke critical thinking and promote action towards an equitable and just world.
