BEEKEEPING FOR VETERANS INC

Beekeeping For Veterans is a wellness program that combines beekeeping with mindfulness practices.

There are two components to the Beekeeping For Veterans program.

Beekeeping
Mindfulness meditation practices

Beekeeping:

Every veteran will receive a beehive with approx. 30,000 bees, protective clothing, tools to manage the hive, we have an online instructional video on how to beekeep, and beekeeping mentorship.

Why Beekeep? When one beekeeps three things happen. 1) you must be calm. 2) Be mindful of your movements. 3) while beekeeping one gets a positive rush of adrenalin. All three things help those that are suffering from a PTSD injury.

Mindfulness:

Every week a 10-15 minute mindfulness video will be sent out to all of our participants. Topics include Altruism, Awe, Bridging differences, Compassion, Diversity, Empathy, Forgiveness, Gratitude, Happiness, Mindfulness, Purpose, and of course life lessons from the hive.

We will also be organizing monthly zoom meetings to have guest speakers on beekeeping and have a live mindfulness meditation.
