HELP by AMG is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization rooted in mutual aid, radical care, and accessible support. Founded and led by a disabled Puerto Rican trans man, HELP by AMG is built on lived experience and an unwavering commitment to equity, dignity, and justice. We are here to help everyone live prosperously — especially those too often left behind by traditional systems.
HELP by AMG provides direct, affirming resources to individuals and families across Massachusetts and beyond. We serve a wide range of community members — particularly trans and queer folks, disabled and chronically ill people, BIPOC communities, veterans, and low-income households — through programs designed to meet real needs with care and flexibility.
Our core programs include:
Attire for Change is a mobile and pop-up community closet that provides free, seasonally appropriate, and gender-affirming clothing for people of all sizes, ages, and identities. We offer on-site styling, accessories, and personal support at events to ensure everyone feels seen, respected, and celebrated.
- Packs are custom care packages made with love and intention. Each Pack is built around the unique needs of the individual or family requesting support — including hygiene supplies, affirming gear, period products, school essentials, mobility items, food, and more.
- Emergency Aid & Responsive Mutual Aid: We respond quickly and compassionately to urgent needs within the community, including assistance after displacement, unexpected hardship, or disaster. Our aid is person-centered, barrier-free, and rooted in trust.
We know the systems in place are often not built for us; especially if you're trans, disabled, BIPOC, or low-income. HELP by AMG was created to fill those gaps with love, care, and action. We are community-first, people-powered, and driven by the belief that no one should have to prove they’re “deserving” of help.
Everything we do is about removing barriers. We don’t require ID, proof of income, or a backstory to access care. We center the needs of people; not paperwork.
Since our founding, HELP by AMG has provided:
- Thousands of clothing items to individuals of all sizes and identities
- Hundreds of customized care packages, tailored to specific needs
- On-site support at community events across Greater Boston
- Support to displaced families, trans individuals navigating unsafe environments, and people facing inaccessible or unaffordable basic needs
Every donation goes directly toward building and distributing care — not bureaucracy.
Your support allows us to do more:
- $25 helps us fill a hygiene Pack
- $50 outfits someone head-to-toe for a job interview or housing intake
- $100 sponsors a full-size care package for a disabled or immunocompromised individual
- Monthly donations keep our closet and custom care system running all year long
We’re currently raising funds to expand our mobile closet, acquire more accessible storage and transport fixtures, and support emergency requests with faster turnaround.
“Rarely have I seen an Executive Director as driven and passionate about their mission as Antonio. An investment now, as he builds his organization, will net great returns in the future for those he serves.”
