HERITAGE PARK VETERANS MUSEUM

Heritage Park Veterans Museum Mission Statement Heritage Park Veterans Museum was established November 11, 2010; with nine mannequins and two glass cases. We exist to serve the veterans and the citizens of Henry County, the State of Georgia, the United States of America, and other countries who want to learn about the military history of the United States. Staffed by volunteer military veterans dedicated to preserving our wartime history and honoring those whose service and sacrifice made our ways of life possible, the Heritage Park Veterans Museum is far more than a display of artifacts. The museums goal is to educate the general public and students about the proud heritage of our six military branches that defend our freedoms and liberties. The museum also represents an invaluable location for veterans both local and visiting as a place to fellowship with our veteran volunteers in good times as well as in times of crisis. Our memorial room honors and remembers those killed or missing in action in the line of duty, providing a quiet place to reflect on those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for America’s freedom. History is brought to life by American military veterans whose time of service, specific Military Occupation Specialty, and personal experiences temper each volunteers tour and interaction with museum guests. The museum is dedicated to those that have served in the past, those serving now and to those that will serve in the future.

Our staff strives to provide visitors a unique experience in our museum with the displays and stories linked to those displays. We American veterans provide tours to the visitors to bring military history alive of our great country. This means that the next generation of American citizens and foreign visitors will have a greater appreciation of the service and sacrifices made by American Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airmen, Coast Guardsman and Guardians.
