UISC Environmental Initiative: Creating Sustainable Communities

At United in Service Coalition (UISC), our Environmental Initiative is dedicated to fostering sustainable communities by addressing environmental injustices and promoting access to healthier food options.

In under-resourced and food-insecure communities, we establish gardens to combat environmental inequalities while providing education and access to nutritious foods. Through these gardens, we empower residents to cultivate their own produce and foster a sense of community engagement.

Expanding our efforts, we're now incorporating Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) to mitigate flooding in flood-prone areas. By establishing rain gardens and permeable solutions on residential and community properties, we're not only addressing flood risks but also enhancing environmental resilience and promoting sustainable urban development.
