Hesperus opens doors for Native American and Alaska Native communities that systemic inequity has kept closed for generations. We deliver technology education, digital access, and workforce pathways to rural and tribal communities across the United States, partnering with corporations, universities, and government agencies to ensure that Native youth and families can fully participate in today's digital economy. Our work is rooted in the belief that closing the digital divide in tribal communities is not charity. It is an overdue investment in some of the most resilient and underserved people in this country.
Eight students showed up on the San Carlos Apache Reservation in 2022 for the first STEM and digital literacy program ever held on a Native American reservation. Today, more than 160 Native youth across eight chapters are building, coding, and leading through Girls Who Game, delivered in partnership with Dell Technologies and Freeport-McMoRan across two Arizona reservations where one in four residents has no access to high-speed internet.
