AMERICAN LATINO VETERANS ASSOCIATION

ALVA was formed and approved by the IRS as a 501c3 charitable organization in 2020. Our mission statement is “To help Latino veterans thrive and recognize their indispensable contributions”. In support of our mission, we focus our efforts in five key areas:
- Workforce Development/Job Placement
- Entrepreneurship/Business Growth
- Telling the stories of Latino contributions to our military since the Revolutionary War
- Maintain a repository of information on resources/benefits
- Advocacy by having a voice on issues affecting veterans and Latinos

We accomplish this primarily by maintaining informational content on our website and other social media channels; establishing partnerships with academic institutions, other nonprofits organizations, corporations, government agencies, and others; conducting both in-person and virtual events, matchmaking opportunities, etc.; as well as development of original multimedia content.
