Founded in 1984, Colorado HorsePower is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and PATH Intl. Center Member located at Meadowbrook Farm in Castle Rock. The organization delivers evidence-informed equine-assisted activities using certified therapeutic riding instructors. It has served the Douglas County and greater Denver/Colorado Springs communities for more than 40 years with generous support from local partners including the Castle Rock Civitan Club, Castle Rock Kiwanis, Castle Rock Rotary, Boy and Girl Scout troops, Air Force Academy cadets, the Douglas County Volunteer Coalition, Denver Veterans Center, and many others.

"In 35 years of VA medicine, few interventions have shown the kind of whole-person impact I've seen through Horsemanship for Heroes. The horse doesn't judge. The community heals. The results speak for themselves," said Dr. Leigh Anderson, who is a retired VA Rehabilitation Medicine Specialist and one of two certified professionals providing equine therapy instruction to veterans and first responders.
