Chandelier Transformations Youth Mentoring (formerly Chandeliers for Christ) is a Non-profit 501(c)(3) Organization founded in 2017.
Chandelier Transformations Youth Mentoring (C.T.Y.M) 's mission is to bring together middle school and high school girls in the Tampa Bay Area to create a strong sisterhood that empowers, motivates and uplifts them while teaching them to make a powerful impact in a global economy. We envision transforming the lives of teenage girls through youth-led, multigenerational spaces enriched with healthy dialogue, community-engaged education and civic engagement creating equitable environments in which our future trailblazers and innovators can thrive. We do this by providing safe spaces for out youth to speak and be heard without fear of reprisal on issues like Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment, Domestic Violence, Bullying, Low Self Esteem and poor Educational Support.
Middle school and High School youth face many challenges today:
Early adolescence is a developmental stage that psychologists often refer to as “separation individuation.” Youth may begin rebelling against parental values. They desperately want to find their individuality.
They must deal with social pressures, which today are exacerbated by the media, texting, snapchat, twitter, or face-book. Most kids today are carrying a phone, camera and computer in their pocket! This has a number of positives, but it can also lead to big trouble.
Peer pressure is another pitfall for youth. Choosing friends wisely and learning to recognize a healthy relationship is vital in helping youth avoid risk-taking behaviors associated with adolescence.
We offer innovative ways to overcome and combat these issues through ongoing mentoring and engagement, curriculum, workshops and camps, performing arts and entrepreneurial and college readiness.
