These Veterans of Foreign Wars-sponsored youth essay competition gives students an opportunity to write/speech essays expressing their views on an annual patriotic theme. The Veterans of Foreign Wars Department of Indiana Foundation supplements an additional amount of $12200.00 in prize money to the Indiana Department of Veterans of Foriegn Wars awards program for the Voice of Democracy and Patriot's Pen Scholarships winners.
