St. Joseph Missions provides emergency shelter and resources for single homeless women, regardless of their faith, in an environment that respects their dignity as human persons, affords them the opportunity to live individually and collectively with others in a safe environment of self-government, and empowers them to network with local businesses and social services for employment and self-sufficiency.
St. Joseph Missions was founded in 2016 as a response to conversations with single women experiencing homelessness. While distributing food, we learned some women were selling their bodies for $20 an hour in desperation for a warm place to stay. Others were being traumatized while sleeping on the streets.
