At River City Advocacy and Counseling Center, we strive to turn no one away due to inability to pay. We operate on a sliding scale for those who are uninsured or underinsured. Our average cost per session is $83, but our average fee collection is $17-19 leaving us a substantial financial portion to be made up through foundation grants and community support.
Last year we saw 466 clients and scheduled 8,182 appointments. Most of our clients fall within 400% of the federal poverty guidelines. We currently serve Comal, Guadalupe, Bexar and Hays counties. We are hoping to sustain these services at the current capacity of service, but with government funding being less this year, we need community support more than ever.
